Herbal Medicine
The integration of traditional herbal medicine into modern understanding approaches to healing.

Herbal medicine, both in the East and West, involves the use of plants and plant extracts to promote health and treat illness, rooted in ancient traditions. In the East, particularly in systems like Traditional Chinese Herbalism and Ayurveda (India), herbal medicine emphasizes balance—using complex formulas of herbs (e.g., ginseng, turmeric) tailored to an individual’s energy or constitution, often alongside practices like acupuncture or meditation. In the West, herbalism, influenced by Greco-Roman, European, and Indigenous traditions, tended to focus on single herbs (e.g., chamomile, echinacea) for specific ailments, historically evolving into modern pharmacology while retaining a folk remedy aspect. Modern herbalists now often integrate both Western and Eastern approaches using the holistic and systemic while integrating into modern health discoveries and knowledge.
